International Conference "Audit of Political Party and Financing of Election Campaigns"

Organized by the State Audit Office of the Slovak Republic, the International Conference "Audit of Political Party and Financing of Election Campaigns" was held in Bratislava on November 27, 2024.
The aim of the conference was to exchange information on the existing systems of financing political parties and election campaigns, both in the context of the Slovak Republic and in selected European countries. In addition to representatives of the State Audit Office of the Slovak Republic, the conference was attended by representatives of the academic community of the Slovak Republic and representatives of supreme audit institutions from Croatia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia.
At the conference, representatives of the State Audit Office of the Republic of Croatia Bojana Kramar, Head of the Čakovec Regional Office, and Željka Doležal Božić, Head of the Department for Auditing Non-Profit Organizations, presented the legislative framework for financing political parties in the Republic of Croatia, experiences in auditing the annual financial statements of political parties, and the implementation of recommendations given in previous audits of political parties. They participated in a panel discussion with other participants comparing different approaches, good practices and challenges for supreme audit institutions.
