BILATERAL MEETING IN THE COURT OF AUDIT OF SPAIN

At the invitation of Mr. Ramon Alvarez de Miranda Garcia, President of the Court of Audit of Spain, Mr. Ivan Klešić, Auditor General of the Republic of Croatia, Ms. Lidija Pernar, Assistant Auditor General and Ms. Anita Materljan, Head of Department, on the 12-13 April 2016. participated in a bilateral meeting in the Court’s premises in Madrid.
In addition to presenting and exploring the national legal and institutional frameworks, as well as work and the results of both offices, participants discussed the audit processes and procedures, types of audits and their results with particular emphasis on the financial sector, as well as innovative approaches to improving accountability and transparency in the public sector, and exchanged knowledge and experiences related to a number of other topics of common interest. Discussion was also related to the possibilities of further development of cooperation both at bilateral level and within international professional organizations, especially EUROSAI, whose General Secretariat is located in the Spanish Court of Audit.
